So, I’ve been working behind the scenes lately; you know, spring cleaning and all. Except, it’s not spring. Far from it actually, it’s cold here in Missouri. Have I ever mentioned that I hate winter? Well I do. A big reason is that I don’t like wearing a coat and that makes being outside kind of uncomfortable. It’s like I’m still a kid complaining about being cold but I refuse to wear the coat to rectify. Geesh.
Anywho, back to the working behinds the scenes part…
I hired the company that designed my Frosted Bliss logo, 3Fire Creative, to help with the overhaul of my website. After multiple meetings to go over the changes I was wanting to make, I was given full access and a few tips on how to keep it runnin’. I kept it low-key at first so that I could practice using it and locate any hiccips before the world pointed them out to me. Finally, I’m ready to shout it out! Are you as antsy as I am? What, no? Well, crap. Play along with me for fun and take a little look-see at the new site, www.frostedbliss.com. There, you’ll find my new Oven Fresh blog featuring a recipe or current project, a calendar to check my availability, a picture gallery of my recent work, and details on how to order if you’re so inclined.
As for the cleaning…
I was reorganizing all my baking related paperwork to streamline everything because there’s gonna be a tidal wave of business you know. Okay, just kidding there. But really, as I was pitching out some things I don’t need, tweaking my recipes, and ordering some bulk supplies, I came across an old photo album full of cakes I made when I first started decorating. I wish I had a picture of the VERY first; a 3-D polar bear cake for my daughter’s 1st birthday. I put so much frosting on the poor thing, the arms and legs fell off. Now, I won’t say that my cakes are perfect or I don’t still have a problem or two, but my 17 years of experience have provided me lots of opportunities to
make all sorts of other stupid mistakes improve my skillzzz. Be sure to check out my “Retro Cakes” album on Flickr to see some of those old-school celebration cakes. There’s one below, too. Thank God I’ve gotten better!
What about my giveaway you ask?
Oh, I haven’t forgotten; that is the reason for this post afterall. Like I mentioned above, I’ve had some time to practice and I make a pretty awesome cake nowadays. Technically, I make pretty awesome cinnamon rolls, cookies, marshmallow or cake pops, dessert bars, and pies. If one of the ingredients is sugar, then there’s a high probability that I’m awesome at making it. Yes, I am that good that I can just toot my horn like that. It’s my blog so I can do that and besides, my sweets are delicious!
So….who wants some free cake?
scoop slice…To celebrate my new website and the fact that I’ve gone from making polar bears with no arms to cakes to that look like TARDIS (ask any “Dr. Who” geek), I’m giving away THREE (3) delicious prizes:
